Immaculate Conception is committed to Catholic education. We are
a caring community and strive to provide a learning environment
where Catholic values, teachings and beliefs form an integral part
of daily life.
Our school is part of St. Kevin’s Parish in Val Therese.
Father Pat Woods has recently joined the parish and the community
and will undoubtedly be a wonderful support to our school community.
We will continue to celebrate Mass at school and at the Church and
look forward to his informal visits to classrooms too!

Immaculate Conception
Feast Day - December 8
December 8 is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Immaculate
Conception means that Mary, was conceived without original sin or
its stain – that’s what “immaculate” means:
without stain. Mary was preserved against original sin by God’s
grace.
When discussing the Immaculate Conception, an implicit reference
may be found in the angel’s greeting to Mary. The angel Gabriel
said “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you” (Luke
1:28). The phrase “full of grace” is a translation of
the Greek work Kecharitonene. It therefore expresses a characteristic
quality of Mary.
